Permanent
On May 16th, I became a permanent employee at DataCamp. I am over the moon! After starting on a short-term contract that kept getting extended -three months, then six, then a year- I finally have a permanent role. It is hard to describe what that means to me. The stability, the trust, the feeling that they want me here for the long run.
In other exciting news, DataCamp Connect was just announced, and this year it will be in Lisbon. I cannot wait. After Athens last year, I know how special these events are, and Lisbon has always been a city I wanted to visit.
At work, I have been involved in something personally meaningful -the Translations project. We are bringing DataCamp content to Spanish, and as a Mexican, this hits close to home. The idea that someone in Latin America could learn data skills in their own language because of work I helped with is incredible. I have also been doing sales demos in Spanish for clients in Latin America, including a client in Costa Rica, which is a fun way to combine my background with my current role.
On the technical side, I have been building project and competition metrics tables and started exploring Atlan, a data catalog tool. It is cool to see how the company thinks about data governance and documentation. There is always something new to learn.
I am grateful to Eduardo, Jorge and the team for believing in me. Going from contract to permanent is a milestone I will not forget.
